Statement
Artist Mikala Valeur, born 1972, raised in a artistic family. Art for Valeur is as natural as breathing the air. Valeur`s art has a twisted humor with a serious background. The artworks can be consumed in different ways, some by being watched, others for the public to be an active part of. Materials are the inspiration for the constructions, who inspires different angles of shapes, contents and structures. Valeur is an experimental artist who works with Installations, collages, sculptures, books, videos and light objects. Exhibited at biennales and museums. Participated in several Sculpture by the sea, Denmark and Australia. Exhibited in solo and Group exhibitions in England, France, Holland, New York and Denmark. Installations at City hall, Culture harbor, etc. Received several funds over the years, and won in Australia The Spinifix Thrust Artist Subsidy, The Crowe Horwath Artist Subsidy and The Kids Choice Prize, and won in Denmark The Founding Directors Award to an invitation to Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe and Bondi.
The Valeur-price is consisting of a Valeur art piece, who has been given once a year
(until 2018), rewarding a social effort.
2018-2024
Sabbath years of exhibitions abroad (only exhibithions at DK at Galleri Valeur), making space for research and art itself.
Concentrating with art in new perspectives and landscapes out of the city-line.
Bouilding atelier, gallery, Restaurent, Winesalon, at VAVASGAARD in North Jutland.
A duet project where Mikala Valeur makes Art/Galleri Valeur, and Chef Vastardis Restaurent and winesalon. At Vavasgaard they connects and collaborates with art and food knowledges.
